LUGGAGE / WIZZAIR
From November 1, all passengers will have the right to bring one handbag up to 40 x 30 x 20 cm into the cabin free of charge, which they should place under the seat in front of them.
Passengers who have purchased WIZZ Priority will be allowed to bring one additional bag with wheels up to a maximum size of 55 x 40 x 23 cm.
In addition, Wizz Air is introducing a new type of dedicated bag weighing up to 10 kg, in addition to the available 20 and 32 kg options.
ALLOWED LUGGAGE
Each passenger can take on WIZZ flights:
- One handbag (max. Size 40 x 30 x 20 cm, 10 kg), located under the seat.
- Up to six pieces of checked baggage, of which a maximum of three can be purchased online at wizzair.com or through the call center, while the rest can be purchased at the airport.
- Items purchased in the duty free zone after security clearance.
WIZZ Priority
If you purchase the WIZZ priority service (or if you are entitled to WIZZ priority via the WIZZ Privilege Pass, WIZZ GO or WIZZ Plus package), you have the right to bring a free handbag (max. Size 40 x 30 x 20 cm) and an additional bag with wheels (max. 55 x 40 x 23 cm). You are guaranteed to bring both bags into the cabin, unless this is not possible due to operating restrictions.
Passengers who do not have the WIZZ Priority service
Passengers have the right to travel with one free handbag (max. Size 40 x 30 x 20 cm). If you do not buy the WIZZ priority service and your bag exceeds these dimensions, you will pay a fee for oversized luggage at the airport.
The liquid can be brought into the plane only in a container with a maximum volume of 100 ml, which is packed in a transparent plastic bag of 1 liter that can be closed again, measuring 20 × 20 cm. Your luggage will be checked at the airport.
Additional items on the plane
You can bring the following items on board without paying a fee:
- coat or blanket,
- cellular phone,
- reading material during the summer,
- for children under the age of two: food during the flight and a folding baby carrier or small crib,
- a pair of crutches for the disabled.

Size and weight
Checked baggage may not have dimensions larger than:
- Width: 149 cm
- Height: 119 cm
- Length: 171 cm
Types of bags declared as checked baggage:
- Dedicated bag weighing up to 10 kg
- Dedicated bag weighing up to 20 kg
- Dedicated bag weighing up to 32 kg
You can check in up to 3 pieces of checked baggage. Wizz Air introduces a new type of delivered bag with a permissible weight of up to 10 kg, in addition to the available options of 20 and 32 kg. You can submit a maximum of one bag weighing up to 10 kg, two bags of 20 kg or three bags of 32 kg. Other combinations of registered bags cannot be purchased online.
One pram / folding baby carrier / child car seat can be delivered free of charge for each small child
Baggage upgrade
If you need more space, you can add a checked baggage category to your reservation by paying a baggage fee. You can add up to three pieces of checked baggage online and three more pieces at the airport.
Pay a checked baggage fee when booking a flight or add a checked baggage option on your flight details page, no later than three hours before departure.
Excess baggage
It is possible to travel with a lot of luggage.
Check in up to six pieces of luggage per flight – in addition to paying the baggage fee for each piece, pay the fee for the first three pieces of luggage online, and if you have more bags, you can pay the rest at the airport.
Airport baggage fees are higher for any additional piece of checked baggage. Weigh the bags before arrival as the airport will charge [surplus-weight-luggage-billing location = airport] / kg extra fee for bags weighing between 20 kg and 32 kg.
NOT ALLOWED IN THE CABIN
Work tools: iron bars, drills and drills, including cordless portable electric drill tools with a blade or shaft longer than 6 cm that can be used as weapons, such as screwdrivers and chisel saws, including cordless portable electric saws welding tools pistols with screw and nails.
Sharp objects
- Items intended for cutting, such as saws, axes and butcher knives.
- Hiking pickaxe and ice-breaking tools, razor blades, scalper knives with blades longer than 6 cm.
- Scissors with blades longer than 6 cm measured from the fulcrum of martial arts equipment with a sharp tip or sharp edge, swords and sabers.
Stunning devices
- shocking devices such as stun guns, stun guns and stun sticks.
- stunning and killing devices, disabling chemicals, gases and sprays such as Mace spray, tear gas, Oleoresin Capsicum-based spray, acid-based spray and animal bite spray.
Blunt objects, baseball and softball bats, batons like batons, leather bats, martial arts equipment.
NOT ALLOWED IN THE CAB AND LUGGAGE
Explosive
Ammunition, small detonators, detonators and fuses, mines, grenades and other explosive military devices
Tanks and cartridges producing smoke, dynamite, gunpowder and plastic explosives.
Weapon
Firearms of all kinds, such as pistols, revolvers, rifles, shotguns, toy pistols, replicas and imitations that can be exchanged for real weapons, parts of firearms, including batons, compressed air pistols and CO2, such as pistols, pistols and bullet rifles.
Signal and start pistols, bows, crossbows and arrows, harpoons and spear guns, slingshots and catapults.
Fire extinguishers, fireworks, fuel, gas stoves, batteries and paint are also not allowed.
CHECKED BAGGAGE
Be careful not to carry any of the following items in your checked baggage:
- cash, bonds,
- jewelery, precious metals, precious and semi-precious stones,
- computers, cameras, video cameras, mobile phones or other electronic devices and equipment therefor,
- official, business or private documents,
- travel or other identification documents,
- keys,
- liquid,
- medicines,
- works of art or works of art,
- perishable goods.
If checked baggage contains any of the above items, WIZZ cannot be held liable for any loss, damage or delay.
Some airports may have additional restrictions on items that may be carried in hand and / or checked baggage. In such cases, the airport regulations apply.
Prohibited items
Due to health and safety reasons, the following items cannot be brought on board:
- items that could endanger an airplane, person or property
- items that may be damaged during air transport
- items that are improperly packaged
- items prohibited by the applicable laws, regulations or orders of the State from or to which it is flown or the territory over which it is flown
- items that are not suitable for carrying due to their weight, size or any other unusual characteristics
- items that may cause discomfort or nausea to persons on the aircraft
- weapons, ammunition and explosives including hunting or sporting weapons
- objects or substances that look like weapons, ammunition or explosives
- flammable substances (except: alcoholic beverages, hair spray, perfume, cologne)
- radioactive materials
- condensed gas (except: CO2 used to move artificial limbs; flammable gas tank used to self-inflate a life jacket);
- poisonous or infectious substances
- corrosive substances (except: mercury in thermometers, barometers and wheelchair batteries)
- briefcases and document bags with built-in alarm devices, lithium batteries or pyrotechnic material
- items and materials that endanger the safety, property, life, health and physical integrity of persons on board
- any material prohibited by the rules and regulations of the countries through which the luggage travels
- any item that is not suitable for transport due to its weight, size or some other characteristic
- the remains of human bodies
- any glue or paint
- all items listed in the Technical Instructions for the Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), as well as in the Regulations for the Management of Dangerous Goods of the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
If you have packed any of these items, we will not be able to pick up your luggage. If you still have any questions, please contact us before packing!
It is the passenger’s responsibility to respond to all requests from security officers if necessary. If a piece of luggage is not transported because the passenger has not met the security requirements, Wizz Air will not be liable for any associated costs.
For general safety, we comply with the following state regulations regarding restrictions on the carriage of liquids in cabin baggage on all our flights:
- the liquid is in a container with a maximum volume of 100 ml,
- all liquid containers of a maximum volume of 100 ml which can easily fit in a transparent plastic bag of 1 liter that can be resealed, dimensions 20 × 20 cm,
- the plastic bag should be shown separately at the security check,
- liquid that does not meet the requirements listed here will be removed by airport security officers, so you need to be very careful when packing hand luggage.
SPORTS EQUIPMENT
Transport sports equipment with WIZZ for an additional fee for sports equipment! The following items can be transported:
- skis, ski board, surfing equipment, golf bags packed in a case,
- Jump poles can only be accepted for transport if they are packed in textile bags, bicycles packed in transport cases for bicycles with wheels and pedals removed and the handlebars turned parallel or covered with cardboard, provided that the tires are inflated,
- diving equipment with empty diving bottles, removed power supply and light switch set to the position “OFF”, horns and trophies with a valid veterinary certificate.
Please note that we cannot provide you with packing material. Be sure to pack sports equipment in accordance with the above requirements. If the equipment is not packed properly, we will not be able to transport it.
ANIMALS
Pets are not allowed on the plane, except for guide dogs. Remember to bring the appropriate travel documentation for the guide dog: this documentation should comply with the regulations of the destination countries.
MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS, FRAGILE AND COLLECTIVE OBJECTS
You can insert a case for a musical instrument with a maximum length of 80 cm into the cockpit. The remaining dimensions of the case must not exceed 40 x 23 cm.
If the instrument with its carrying case does not have dimensions larger than 55 x 40 x 23 cm and does not weigh more than 10 kg, then you can carry it as cabin luggage
Examples of such instruments are violins, violas, flutes, clarinets, trumpets, ukuleles.
The size of the musical instrument bag should be checked on a hand luggage gauge: the width and depth must match, and the height should be approximately 1.5 times the allowable height, a small musical instrument is your cabin luggage and you can only bring it into the plane.
The musical instrument must be placed in the overhead compartment
Musical instruments that do not fit the above dimensions and that cannot be transported as checked baggage may be accommodated in an additional seat on an airplane after the purchase of an additional seat
Reservations can also be made online: enter “EXST” in the passenger name field, and enter the passenger’s last name in the last name field
For safety reasons, instruments that are placed on an additional seat in the cab cannot be placed in the emergency exit rows and in the front row, and must be placed on the window seat
Instruments larger than the forehead (eg double bass, harp, etc.) must be submitted marked “Limited Liability”.
Limited liability signs
Baggage that is damaged, fragile, bulky, improperly packed, late checked in, as well as oversized luggage, will be accepted for transport only with the “Limited Liability” mark on the luggage. Wizz Air cannot accept responsibility for such items.
DIPLOMATIC LUGGAGE
Diplomatic baggage or any type of baggage with a sealed lock must be accompanied by a diplomatic courier throughout the journey and must be reported as diplomatic baggage. Diplomatic baggage must always be carried as unchecked baggage regardless of its size, special characteristics and special handling procedures required.
If the size or characteristics of the diplomatic baggage do not allow it to be brought into the cabin, it may be carried with checked baggage, but it will be considered as checked baggage because we cannot take responsibility for that baggage. In this case, the courier responsible for the diplomatic bag should be present during the entire procedure of its loading and unloading.
