The new Wizz Air base will open on 12th December 2025 with a new state-of-the-art Airbus A321neo allocated to Tuzla International Airport.

The airline will add a second aircraft to the new base by March 2026.

Nine new routes are already available for booking from Tuzla to Cyprus, Germany, France, Netherlands and Sweden.

Tuzla, 19 August 2025: Wizz Air, EMEA’s most environmentally sustainable airline¹, today has announced the reopening of its base in Tuzla and further expanding operations in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This year, exactly ten years since the airline first established its base in Tuzla, Wizz Air is proudly returning to strengthen its commitment to the country. The airline continues to offer more affordable travel options, meeting the growing demand for budget-friendly flights, with tickets already available online on Wizz Air’s official website and through its mobile app from as low as 40.99 BAM².

With the allocation of two state-of-the-art Airbus A321neo aircraft by March 2026, the airline is happy to grow again its capacity from Bosnia and Herzegovina, adding half a million seats for the upcoming year. The expansion makes Wizz Air the market leader in Bosnia and Herzegovina, further consolidating its position as the most accessible airline with the biggest route network serving the country.

With a reopened base and two allocated aircraft in Tuzla, Wizz Air will enhance connectivity from the city by enabling the launch of nine new routes. Starting from December 2025, passengers can already fly from Tuzla to Cologne, Hamburg, Maastricht and Malmö. From March 2026, additional five routes will be available to Berlin, Frankfurt, Gothenburg Landvetter, Larnaca and Paris.

Wizz Air now offers 17 routes to nine countries from Bosnia and Herzegovina, including the recently relaunched route from Tuzla to Vienna from June, flights from both Tuzla and Banja Luka to Basel and Dortmund, while London Luton and Rome are available with the airline from Sarajevo.

Speaking at the press conference in Tuzla, Roland Tischner, Managing Director of Wizz Air Hungary, said:
“We are delighted to be back at our Tuzla base, exactly ten years after our initial entry into the city. The reopening of this base, supported by the deployment of two state-of-the-art Airbus A321neo aircraft, signifies an important milestone in our ongoing growth across Bosnia and Herzegovina, making Wizz Air the biggest airline in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This development not only enhances connectivity from Tuzla but also reinforces our long-term strategy to offer ultra-low fares to an ever-expanding network of European destinations.”

Dževad Halilčević, General Manager of Tuzla International Airport, said:
“Tuzla International Airport is proud to announce the return of the Wizz Air base, which is the result of years of mutual business cooperation and the Airport’s dedication to infrastructural development, representing an exceptionally significant business achievement. This strategic step further strengthens the role of Tuzla International Airport, positioning it not only as a key airport in Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also as an important driver of economic growth for Tuzla Canton and the wider region. The renewed Wizz Air base brings new employment opportunities, provides vital support to the growth of tourism, and further establishes Tuzla Canton as a center of business and investment. We are proud to be part of this strategic step forward for Tuzla Canton and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and together with Wizz Air, we are building bridges that will serve both present and future generations.”
